navel-gazing
Follow a day in the life of two working class Americans in Seattle, one tech worker and one service worker, both seemingly "climbing the steps to the American Dream." While the two characters appear to have many differences, they have more in common with each other than with the billionaire class.

FAQ
How do you pronounce mara cara?
It's "mare-uh care-uh"
Are you open to collabs?
Yes! I have collabed with Seattle-based house DJ Attican to produce a track titled "Where Were You." I would love to work on other projects - contact me if you wanna get creative or put a bill together!
What's up with the bouquet?
See, I collected red flags for so long I made a bouquet... those are the lyrics I turned the flowers into. That song is releasing soon, but for now, you can buy my pressed flower art at shop.iammaracara.com! 💐
What inspired the song "bouquet"?
I was inspired by Miley Cyrus' song, "Flowers"!
What does "navel-gazing" mean?
"navel-gazing" is the self-indulgent or excessive contemplation of oneself or a single issue, at the expense of a wider view. In my single, "navel-gazing," I am commenting on America's hyper-individualistic culture and how it perpetuates issues like wealth inequality.
What does "mi mar" mean?
"mi mar" means "my ocean" in Spanish. It was a nickname for one of my exes. This was the only break up song I've written and I hope it's my last.
How many times have you been ghosted?
Enough times to write a song about it... wait for the album! 😘
